ACTC Inauguration Ceremony

On December 12th, 2019, ACTC, the first R&D center in China for applied research dedicated to composite technologies in future lightweight applications, hosted its inauguration ceremony in Changshu after two-year intensive preparation since 2018 in terms of construction, equipment moving in and adjustment, recruiting, etc. The management from HRC group, Fraunhofer ICT, Changshu High-Tech Industrial Development Zone and ACTC partners attended this inauguration.

As an open R&D platform invested by HRC and technically supported by Fraunhofer ICT, ACTC is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art equipment and has access to full-scale technologies in thermoset and thermoplastic composite. By establishing bilateral or multilateral R&D projects along the value chain for future composite solutions, ACTC is aiming to promote cluster effect through linkage of companies from upstream to downstream, universities and research institutes to create added value for customers and partners.
At the inauguration, ACTC signed a scientific framework contract with ITA Technologie transfer GmbH. The two parties will cooperate together on the focus of the concept and process development for composite pressure vessels (CPV) of mobile applications. The contract will be started in January 2020 and has duration of 3 years.
